Garden Lighting Design & Installation — Country Estate, St Albans

The owners of this large country estate in St Albans wanted to transform their formal gardens after dark, creating an attractive nighttime setting while making the outdoor space more practical to use.

Our team carried out the installation over more than two weeks, working through challenging winter conditions. The completed lighting scheme gives the owners control through an app, with timers to automate when the lights come on and switch off.

What our client said

“We were recommended Christian and his team by friends, and we were not disappointed. From start to finish they were a pleasure to have around and worked so hard in extremely challenging winter conditions. Their professional approach to everything from design to installation and aftercare has meant we have and always will recommend this company to everyone wanting a specialist outdoor lighting company.”

In total, we used over 170 fittings in 8 lighting zones to ensure maximum control and energy efficiency. The whole system was 12v to ensure reliability and ease of maintenance.

We had several challenges with no access across drives and paths, but the use of mains-linked devices meant we were able to overcome this major problem and keep the system reliable and simple.

We kept glare to a minimum by using honeycombing lenses and anti-glare guards and tight-angle lenses on our optics.
